MECCA 20 - Happy Birthday Mecca

Hello Friends.

This week marks the 20th Anniversary of Australia's premium High-end Beauty Emporium: Mecca Cosmetica and Mecca Maxima. From humble beginnings in a small store inMelbourne’s South Yarra, to more than 80 stores across Australia and New Zealand, it’s been an incredible two decades. Founded by Australia, Jo Hogan #LADYBOSS, I think it is an massive enterprise that we, as Australians should all be proud of. Trust me, in my experience as a private equity/venture capital lawyer, I have seen my fair share of business models and start-up to mature national and international businesses. Mecca Cosmetic/Maxima is IT. I've enjoyed each experience I've had at the various Mecca stores. I highly recommend you visit the their flagship store in Toorak, Victoria - it is in a word "OMG". Mecca is a treasure trove of fantastical and addictive products catering to the high end market. There is even a famous hashtag #MeccaBeautyJunkie that bloggers and instagrammers like to use even if their post has nothing to do with products from Mecca Cosmetica/Maxima. O.K. It might be confusing as to why there is a Mecca Cosmetic and a Mecca Maxima, but that is a story for another day.

As a MeccaBeautyJunkie, I am so astounded by the number of World Famous Brands that have created special edition items in celebration of Mecca's 20th Anniversary. It is something to be proud of. As far as I know, much of these are GLOBAL exclusives and in some cases the first time that these brands have created special items celebrating any iconic luxury store. WOW.

I've included the list of the special edition items in this blog (just scroll down). There are 41 items. From brands such as Urban Decay; NARS; Too Faced to Kevyn Aucoin (gasp!); By Terry and Chantecaille. Holy Moly.

The items will be available in stores from October 04, 2017 and online http://www.mecca.com.au/ from around 8.30a.m. though I suggest you start clicking that refresh button from around 7amish.
