Here is a Fragrance Story on Jo Malone London's 2022 Brit Collection inspired b Wild Swimming.
This year's Jo Malone London Brit Collection has four new colognes; a hydrating face mist; special edition of the cult favourite Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne and a special edition Wood Sage & Sea Salt Home Candle.
Jo Malone London Brit Collection is described as being inspired by:
"Windswept walks along the beach, the air fresh with sea salt and the mineral scent of rugged cliffs. Mingling with the woody earthiness of sage."
The four new colognes layer beautifully with the Wood Sage & Sea Salt cologne.
I received the Aqua Lemon cologne; the special edition Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne and the special edition Wood Sage & Sea Salt Home Candle. All of which I will review in detail here.
I also went in-store to test the other three new colognes:
Crystal Campion: described by Jo Malone London as "The crystal waters of a hidden cove, lined with smooth pebbles and trimmed with dainty campion flowers. The freshness of rose ripples with a note of dewy violets and a hint of juicy blackcurrant." This is quite a lovely cologne. I found it to be romantic, fruity and a bit sweet. In the hydrating
Forest Moss: described by Jo Malone London as "A ray of sunlight through the towering trees of the forest, leading the way to a secluded river. The green freshness of juniper entwined with the natural scents of earthy geranium and aromatic moss." I like green and mossy notes, so I found this to be very appealing. It is a fresh green scent with a touch of fresh cut grass.
Salty Amber: described by Jo Malone London as: "An exhilarating swim at high tide. Sensual notes of amber and patchouli recall the opaque depths of the sea, contrasting with the impression of salty sea water and the energetic freshness of cardamom." This is a spicy salty fragrance that does evoke feelings of swimming in the sea.

Jo Malone London Aqua Lemon Cologne

My Thoughts on Jo Malone London Aqua Lemon Cologne:
The Bottle: A beautiful blue glass bottle with a unique wooden cap. The sustainably-sourced wooden caps are created especially to be unique to every bottle. These bottles are stunning and very appealing because of the uniqueness of each cap.
The Scent: My first impression was that this had a sharp tangy lemon scent. As it developed, it became more like lemon myrtle. The sweet notes of Mandarin start to come through after a while with the grounding cedarwood. It really smells like lemon myrtle with mandarin.
Base Note: Mandarin
Heart Note: Lemon Petitgrain
Base Note: Cedarwood
The Dry Down: A pleasant dry down. It starts to get a little bit sweeter and juicier. There is still a bit of the tangy lemon.
The Tastes: This fragrance really reminds me of food. Lemon myrtle is a plant indigenous to Australia and is often used in cooking. I love lemon myrtle cakes and teas. I also like it in a salad. If you know what lemon myrtle is, this is what Aqua Lemon "tastes" like. Also the mandarin does fill my mouth with its sweet juiciness.
The Colours: Interestingly, this Aqua Lemon didn't evoke any "visuals". I think it was mostly because it reminds me so much of lemon myrtle.
The Feelings: Very bright and happy. This is a Summer scent. It reminds me of hanging out at the beach and/or swimming in a sal water pool. Very refreshing. A bit like a Aperol Spritz with s good squeeze of lemon.
The Wear Time: A good 3-4 hours as is expected for a cologne.
Layered: When layered with Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne, it really becomes more complex (as expected) and delicious. This combination is more herbaceous with the sage mixing well with the tangy notes of Aqua Lemon. The combination is more rounded and a bit savoury. Like a very yummy roasted vegetables salad. I really love this combination!!
Suggested occasions to wear this: A bright and happy scent, Aqua Lemon is more of a Summer fragrance. However, if paired with Wood Sage & Sea Salt, you can wear this anytime and anywhere! I think people will start following you because of how delicious you smell.
Overall: I quite like Aqua Lemon for its tanginess juicy notes. However, personally I would wear it mostly layered with Wood Sage & Sea Salt. This combination brings out the best in both colognes.
The blue glass and blue wooden cap is very appealing. The packaging really captures the spirit of swimming in the sea and beachside holidays!

Special Edition Wood Sage & Sea Salt Home Candle
This is such a beautiful candle. I really love the beautiful blue glass it comes in and the gorgeous unique blue wooden cover, The scent is Wood Sage & Sea Salt.

I've always enjoyed Wood Sage & Sea Salt. It is a good unsex scent and reminds me of calming walks by the sea. The candle has a good "throw" and subtilely fills our living room.
