Here's another quick Fragrance Story! What I like to call "spot reviews.
In this article, I am review both "Wood Sage & Sea Salt" and "English Pear & Freesia". Classic and well loved colognes from Jo Malone London.
WOOD SAGE & SEA SALT
This fragrance truly reminds me of that fresh salty air you can only get at the beach. It has a slight citrus tint to it. I also get a sense of earthiness. I really love the inclusion of sea salt as its heart note! It makes this one so much more interesting. The sea salt is not overly pronounced if that is what might put you off but definitely detectable in a good way. Definitely gives those beachy vibes!
A really nice one to layer with Lime Basil & Mandarin.
Jo Malone London describes it as:
"Escape the everyday along the windswept shore. Waves breaking white, the air fresh with sea salt and spray. Alive with the mineral scent of the rugged cliffs. Mingling with the woody earthiness of sage. Lively, spirited and totally joyful."
Notes: Top Note: Ambrette Seeds; Heart Note: Sea Salt; and Base Note: Sage.
ENGLISH PEAR AND FREESIA
This is a sweet one. I get the sensation of biting into a juicy pear on a warm humid day. Just imagine the explosion of juicy sweet and slightly tart fruit in your mouth as you bite into a most delicious pear. Described as a "Chypre Fruit", I feel it is more on the sweeter side. This particular one was created by Christine Nagel, the perfumer of other such amazing creations like Giorgio Armani's "Si" and Hermès' Twilly d'Hermes. This fragrance dries down to a lovely base of rose and white musk from the base note of Patchouli.
Jo Malone London describes it as:
"The sensuous freshness of just-ripe pears is wrapped in a bouquet of white freesias, and mellowed by amber, patchouli and woods. Luscious and golden."
